The south part...

Let us introduce » The south part...

The south part of the commune, where one level descending northwards and north- westwards dominates, is much less diver- sified. The lowest point of the commune area lies at the height of 91.2 m above sea level, on the Canal of the Obra river, between Góra and Panienka, The highest point of the commune area is located about 1 km south of Rusko, at the height of 135.6 m above sea level.

The Obra river, a left-bank tributary of the Warta river, is the most important water route of the commune. Within the limits of the former province of Kalisz there flows a nearly 30 km long "spring" section of the Obra, two thirds of which flow in the Jaraczewo commune. Another water route, flowing through the east edge of the commune, is the Lubieszka river which is a left tributary of the Lutynia river.

Soils in the commune are very diversified. In its south part occur brown soils developed from boulder clay and podzolic soils over clay, in the north and west parts - poorer pseudo-podzolic soils and leached brown soils. In the commune there are abundant deposits of gravel, loam and limestone gyttja (high-quality fertiliser lime).

A power transmission line of WN 400 kV as well as three high-pressure gas main lines cross the commune area.

The Jaraczewo commune is a typical agricultural commune where the arable land covers about 76% of the area, The majority of its residents work in agriculture. Individual entrepreneurs run mainly commercial establishment or service workshops. Thus, farming production is the main function of this commune and accompanying domains include production and services to agriculture and to population.
